Virtual conception and efficient realisation of operating material for the EOS

PROPLANT designed and developed numerous customised operating material – in particular for the final assembly of various components and modules for the production of the new VW cabriolet EOS at the Portuguese Volkswagen plant in Palmela. PROPLANT was incorporated at an early stage to help compile the Volkswagen technical performance specifications. Through the use of intelligent design and visualisation software PROPLANT was able to realise an extremely efficient development of operating material for the EOS. Right from the word go, development work was concentrated on the targeted application of innovative simulation technologies, to ensure that the production startup could be as smooth as possible. The spring of 2006 saw the Volkswagen EOS production go online.
